Team Manager

Residential Placements

The Residential Team offer support to some of the most vulnerable young people in society. Bedspace support the transition from the care system to independence through our Pathway of Services. As part of the Bedspace Pathway the Placements provide intensive staff support 24/7 for our young people in Residential properties.

We ensure all our young people have the tools they need to live independently and become a positive part of society. We do this through our work with the ASDAN resettlement training system which is embedded into the work we carry out with the people we care for.

Bedspace utilises a relationship-based approach to our support delivery to work through traumatic events that the Young Person may have experienced. Bedspace has a unique approach to service delivery and support that takes a holistic view of delivering support.

We follow a person-centred approach to support delivery.

About you

To add to our existing team of dedicated staff, Bedspace is seeking to recruit an experienced Residential Team Manager to oversee and manage the Placements across North West Residential. You will be based out of our Liverpool office primarily but will be required to work across the St Helens/Widnes regions to ensure an optimum support service is delivered to our Residential Placements. Reporting to the Registered Service Manager (RSM), the Team Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the service working within the OFSTED Framework for Supported Accommodation. You will work with our dedicated housing team to ensure high standards are maintained in each property. You will work with our Exceptional HR team and be a key player involved in recruitment, inductions and managing best performance of the Support Team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for this sector, looking to make a difference in the lives of the people we care for, and will be looking for a challenging yet rewarding role.

Essential

  • Management experience within social care/ youth services.
  • People management - managing medium/large size teams.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable young people.
  • Experience with mental health issues, youth offending, risk taking, drug and alcohol use or NEET young people is desirable
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or willingness to work towards)
  • Experience working with external agencies.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Negotiation skills
  • Risk and Conflict management.
  • Thorough knowledge of safeguarding
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
  • The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, an employment background check, satisfactory references, and verification of right to work in the UK.
