People thrive best when they feel most valued. That starts with a decent place to call home. 

Providing a range of accommodation types to suit people's needs is central to our ethos, so we’ve developed excellent partnerships with landlords and agents right across the North. For us, spending a little bit more time and money to provide a better standard of housing is always worth it. That’s partly because it’s the right thing to do on moral grounds; but it’s also the wise thing to do, because it helps people feel safe and valued. Ultimately, that’s what helps them to thrive and move on. 

Our dedicated housing team oversees accommodation provision, and it includes maintenance specialists who keep properties in excellent working condition and looking great. We’re also rigorous about safety and comfort, so every property we use meets the following minimum standard:

• Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors fitted

• Up-to-date gas certificates

• Electrical certificates where appropriate

• Moving In packs including utensils and bedding 

• Fire retardant furnishings 

• Good quality carpets with underlay

• Safe and secure, with suitable locks

• Appropriate buildings insurance 

• Appropriate insulation

• PAT tested appliances
