Yesterday, our team members Joe, Jennifer, and Jackie attended the Care Leavers Conference at St George’s Hall, hosted by Liverpool City Council and The Lord Mayor, Councillor Richard Kemp. With over 700 care-experienced young people in Liverpool, the event highlighted their achievements and focused on ways we can enhance our support for them.

It was inspiring to hear from care leavers sharing their personal experiences, and to learn how organisations such as John Lewis & Partners, Everton in the Community, and LFC Foundation are making a real difference in their lives.

A highlight of the day was the keynote by Ashley John-Baptiste, BBC broadcaster and founder of Be Inspired events. His powerful story of navigating the care system deeply resonated with everyone, reminding us why this work is so important.

As Joe Pacheco reflected, "It was a great and insightful event, with such an opportunity to network with so many amazing organisation committed to creating better futures for care leavers."
