Team Manager - Residential

At Bedspace, we provide tailored support to some of the most vulnerable young people in society, helping them transition from care to independence. Through our Group Living and Solo Placements, we offer a safe, nurturing environment where young people can develop essential life skills and build brighter futures.

Our Services

Group Living Placements:

  • Offer safe and supportive homes for up to four young individuals per property.
  • Our dedicated team works collaboratively with residents to help them achieve their ASDAN independence qualifications, recognised by employers and landlords.

Solo Placements:

  • Provide intensive, 24/7 support for young people who are not yet ready to live independently.
  • Part of the Bedspace Pathway of Services, which supports the transition from care to independence.
  • Deliver support through a relationship-based, person-centred approach, addressing the unique needs of each young person and helping them navigate past traumas.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Residential Team Manager to oversee and manage group and solo placements across West Yorkshire. You will be based at our Leeds office and will work regionally to ensure the highest standards of care and support for our young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring compliance with the OFSTED Framework for Supported Accommodation.
  • Lead a team of dedicated support staff to maintain high standards in every placement.
  • Collaborate with our HR team to recruit, induct, and develop team members to deliver exceptional support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of young people, managing risks and conflicts effectively.
  • Uphold our commitment to safeguarding and deliver person-centred, trauma-informed care.

About You

We’re seeking a strong, compassionate leader and people manager with a genuine passion for working in this sector. You’ll bring experience, dedication, and a desire to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven management experience in social care or youth services.
  • Skilled in people management, leading medium/large teams.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people, including those affected by mental health challenges, youth offending, risk-taking behavior, or substance use.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and legislation.
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to achieve this).
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle insured for business use.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young people.
