We at Bedspace are proud to be sponsors and attendees for the much anticipated, newly founded National SaILS Conference on 16th March in Bolton!

This is a fantastic opportunity to be amongst many Local Authorities and Care Providers and show our commitment to working together to improve the lives of cared-for children and young people.

Be sure to say "hi!" to our team when you see us on the day! 💙

More info on the event:

The National SaILS Conference is a newly founded annual event launched with the purpose of bringing together key stakeholders from across the country, and across the sector, that work to support vulnerable young people who are looked after, present as homeless, or at risk.

‘SaILS stands for Supported and Independent Living Services, a phrase commonly used by the Children’s Social Care & Social Work sectors in the Northwest when describing support and accommodation services for young people aged 16 & 17.’

With the sector becoming regulated from Spring 2023, it was felt that now, more than ever, there was a need for collaboration, relational practice, a platform to showcase best practice and an opportunity to learn from one another.

Many providers and local authorities will be anxious around how the pending regulations will impact the market and disrupt services available to young people, and ultimately make it harder to find suitable accommodation in the short term for vulnerable young people. Many will also be excited for the future of services for young people and be keen to come together to share ideas, network and build on understanding.

Whilst the long-term impact of regulations will be to shine a light on poor practice and drive-up standards, the short-term impact could create challenges.
